College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)

The Department of Nursing will accept the transfer of CLEP scores in accordance with College policy. The student should have a copy of the official score report sent to the Office of Admissions at Metropolitan State College of Denver.  Students will not receive a “grade” for the course in which they CLEP, therefore the course will not be calculated in the GPA by the Office of Admissions.

Credit earned through CLEP examination will not be recorded on the student’s permanent record until the student has earned 8 hours in residency credit at Metro State. Students may take CLEP examinations prior to meeting the 8-credit hour residency requirement, in which case the scores will be maintained in the student’s record and appropriate credit awarded with the 8-credit hour residency requirement is met.

Please reference the Metropolitan State College of Denver College Catalog for details of the CLEP guidelines and policy.

International Transcripts/Credentials

Students who have graduated from an institution outside of the U.S. are required to submit Official Transcripts with a “certified translation” into English.  The Office of Admissions at Metro State College recommends the following agency for official translations:

Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) -  Website:  www.ece.org

In addition, students may be required to complete testing of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and/or register and successfully pass ENG 1010 & ENG 1020 in accordance with admission and graduation requirements for Metropolitan State College of Denver.
