License Plate Program

The Metro State License Plate Program is back!

Governor Ritter signed Senate Bill 143 on May 27, 2008, making the Roadrunner and other alumni license plates a permanent fixture on Colorado cars.

The bill lowers to 500 the number necessary to maintain specialty plates. As there already are over 800 on the road, the Roadrunner plate is now permanent!

Before you can purchase a Metro State plate from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), you will need to purchase a voucher from us. Vouchers for current students and alumni who graduated within one year are $25.00. Vouchers for all others are $50.00. These voucher fees will support scholarships and academic programs. In addition, there is a one-time $50 DMV fee for specialty plates.
