Student Scholarships

2008-2009 Alumni Scholars Program

The Metro State Alumni Association will award scholarships to deserving students at its 2008 Alumni Recognition Evening on Wednesday, September 24, 2008.

This year, the association was able to name 11 seniors as Alumni Scholars, awarding them with one-year, full-tuition scholarships.

In selecting recipients, the association targeted seniors with a bent for leadership and a strong track record of community service as well as the need for financial support in order to finish their degrees.

The 2008-2009 Alumni Scholars are: Karen Andrews, Anna Nicole Chima, Sebastian Doherty, Jessica Gomez, William Cassidy Hill, Sheena Holt, Heather Hurd, Courtney Klug, Kyle Lee, Sophia Lind, and Brenda Smith.

Additionally, in 2008-2009, the Metro State Alumni Association is granting scholarships to our deserving Apprentice Challengers that participated in The Apprentice Challenge @ Metro State this past spring.

A full tuition scholarship was granted to the winner, Giedre Stasiunaite, and a half-tuition scholarship to runner-up Noah Steingraeber. All other Challengers will receive a $500 contribution towards their senior year at Metro State: Kaleigh Braun, Cindy Cervantes, David Foos, Ashley Gilchrist, Benjamin Gillespie, Heidi Harrold, Erin Kasch, and Chris Wilcox.
