The Department of Communication Arts and Sciences offers Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Journalism, Speech Communication, and Theatre. Emphases in the Journalism program include BA degrees in Photojournalism, News & Editorial, or Public Relations. The Speech Communication program offers BA emphases in Communication Theory, Organizational Communication, Public Address & Rhetoric, or Broadcasting. In addition, students may pursue their degree with a focus in Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences. Theatre majors choose from a BA in Theatre, or a BFA in either Music Theatre or Applied Theatre Technology & Design.
Several minors are also offered, including News & Editorial, Photojournalism, Public Relations, Theatre, Speech Communication, Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences, and the new Digital Media Minor, and Training and Development Minor collaborating with the departments of Art, Communication Arts & Sciences, and Technical Communications. - The Journalism program, offering a BA in Photojournalism, News & Editorial, or Public Relations. Minors are available in each of these three concentrations for students who do not major in Journalism.
- The Speech Communication program, offering BA degrees in Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences, Communication Theory, Organizational Communication, Public Address & Rhetoric, or Broadcasting & Telecommunications. Minors are available in Speech Communication and Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences.
- The Theatre program, offering a BA in Theatre, a BFA in Musical Theatre, or a BFA in Applied Theatre Technology & Design. The program also offers a minor in Theatre.
- The new Digital Media Minor and the Training and Development Minor offers courses selected from the departments of Art, Communication Arts & Sciences, and Technical Communications.
