The Chicana and Chicano Studies Department offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chicano Studies plus a minor. The Chicana/o and other Latino historical experiences are used a points of departure toward a expanding awareness of the multicultural world and the contributions of Chicanas/os. The program is designed to assist in the preparation of scholars, human service providers, and teachers.
Students have the following options for majoring in Chicano Studies: major for the Bachelor of Arts; and major for the Bachelor of Arts with Teacher Licensure in Secondary Social Studies. Students can also earn a minor in Chicano Studies.
During the final semester, students majoring in Chicano Studies will be required to take a comprehensive assessment test.
