Auraria Library Announces New Overdue Fines

Effective May 19, 2003, the fine for overdue items from the Auraria Libary is 50 cents per day per item, with a maximum fine of $20 for each. Any item that is 28 days overdue is considered lost and will incur a lost book charge of $125 or more per item. Lost book charges are $125 per item for "Prospector" and $400 for "PASCAL" journals.

Library staff that asks that any fines or lost book charges be resolved immediately. Colorado State Law (Colorado Revised Statutes 24-30-202.4) mandates that any debt owed a state agency must be referred to Central Collection Services for the State of Colorado within30 days of becoming past due.

Also, please note that items may be recalled by the library, possibly changing the due date.
