Important Portal Information Available Online

On July 7, MetroConnect, the college's portal system, goes live. MetroConnect will provide the college with a number of opportunities to gain efficiencies and reduce costs, including no longer printing information that can be obtained online.

In addition to providing the college community with a vital tool to receive personalized messages, information and event notification; MetroConnect also will replace Metro State's current e-mail (Outlook and WebMail) and calendar system (Corporate Time). Through a single login, users can utilize MetroConnect from anywhere, anytime, using the Internet.

A website has been constructed to communicate the progress on the portal development. "This site addresses the many questions that have arisen with such a large and exciting project," said Yvonne Flood, director of administration for IT. Just click http://www.mscd.edu/metroconnect/ and check out some of the options, such as:

• Look up your Username/Password for MetroConnect
• Review Help documents that will simplify the portal conversion process
• Review Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) or submit your own question to the portal team
• Coming soon - a portal tour and training information
