MetroConnect Training
Available Soon
On July 7, MetroConnect, the college's new portal system, will
go live. MetroConnect will provide Metro State with opportunities
to increase communication, gain efficiencies and reduce costs.
Beginning June 17, training classes on this new system will be
offered to faculty, staff and student employees through the IT Training
program. "IT will train and support MetroConnect users through
the initial phases of implementation, over the next year,"
said Yvonne Flood, Director of Administration for IT. Training is
not mandatory but Flood recommends that each division and department
send at least one person to an extensive training session to serve
as a peer trainer.
Currently the following training courses are available:
· MetroConnect Calendar
· MetroConnect E-mail
· MetroConnect General Users
· MetroConnect My Courses (primarily for faculty and students)
To sign-up for the various MetroConnect training sessions, go to:
https://www.mscd.edu:9091/trainreg/.
Users may sign-up for a training session by clicking on the Search
by Course button and highlighting any one of the four MetroConnect
courses. To register for training, you must be employed by Metro
State and know your Banner user ID and PIN.
Beginning June 11, MetroConnect training manuals will be available
online at http://www.mscd.edu/metroconnect/
for reference and self-training.
