Prepare For Next Week's
MetroConnect Conversion

MetroConnect, the college's new portal system, is just days away from making its July 7 debut. To accommodate the portal's conversion needs, there will be no access to Metro State online services (including Outlook, WebMail, Corporate Time calendar, Banner Web services and CLEM) after 5 p.m. on July 3 until 7 a.m. on July 7. All incoming e-mail will be held and delivered through the new MetroConnect e-mail on July 7.

IT has requested that all college e-mail users move personal e-mail folders (those stored on your hard drive) to the mail.mscd.edu folders (those stored on the server) by 5 p.m. on July 3. If this isn't done by July 3, you must schedule an appointment with the Help Desk to search and retrieve any e-mail folders saved on your hard drive. "This will cause a significant delay in accessing your e-mail folders after July 7," said Yvonne Flood, director of administration for IT. For easy directions on how to move your folders, click on: http://www.mscd.edu/metroconnect/helpdocs/.

Macintosh users accessing Outlook Express can follow the same directions. Macintosh users utilizing any other e-mail client will need to contact the Help Desk.

In addition, appointments scheduled through CorporateTime will migrate into MetroConnect's calendar and be available for viewing after 7 a.m. on July 7. "As a safety precaution, faculty and staff should print out a hard copy of the next year of calendar items," said Flood.

MetroConnect will synch into personal digital assistants (PDA) that are PC accessed. However, MetroConnect is not currently compatible with Macintosh PDAs.

If you have any questions, please contact the Help Desk at 6-4508.
