Interim President Ray Kieft has appointed Ken Keller interim dean of the School of Letters, Arts and Sciences, effective Nov. 1. Keller was previously interim associate dean of the school and prior to that served as chair of the Anthropology Department for 12 years.
Also, two key appointments have been made in the School of Professional Studies. Kathy Heyl has been appointed interim associate dean of the School of Professional Studies. Heyl, who assumed her new role Oct. 20, was previously chair of the Department of Health Professions for three years. She was been with Metro State for seven years.
Im very excited to be part of the deans office and to work with everyone in the school, Heyl said. Its an exciting time with all of the changes taking place, and Im looking forward to being part of it.
Also, Marc Rabinoff has been named chair of the Human Performance, Sport and Leisure Studies Department. Rabinoff, a Metro State professor for 27 years, chaired the department from 1986-1992. Since then, he has worked to develop the sport industry operations major. As chair, Rabinoff plans to focus on rebuilding the ranks of tenure-track faculty in the department and raising the level of student interest in major courses as well as activity courses offered to all three colleges. |
