Theatre, television and film star Tovah Feldshuh recently visited Metro State's Golda Meir Center to prepare for her upcoming Broadway role as Golda Meir in "Golda's Balcony," a one-woman biographical drama by William Gibson. Feldshuh, who was nominated for an Emmy for her recurring role as defense attorney Danielle Melnick on "Law and Order," spent the day with political science Professor Norman Provizer, center director. Provizer and Feldshuh visited the center and went to City Park, where the late prime minister and her husband attended concerts, and North High School, where she attended school. They also visited the neighborhood in northwest Denver where Meir's home - now the Golda Meir Center - once stood. "Tovah was very enthusiastic and wanted to see the different places where Golda worked and lived," Provizer said. "Golda's Balcony," which has had four months of sold-out performances off Broadway, opens Oct. 3 at Helen Hayes Theatre on Broadway. |
