The Auraria Library has announced an improved service that enables students, faculty and staff to easily access the librarys numerous online databases 24/7. The articles in these databases are not available through the usual Internet searches. Some of the frequently used databases are Expanded Academic ASAP, LexisNexis Academic and ScienceDirect. The library provides these databases at the cost of more than $300,000 a year.
Begin by visiting the librarys Web site: http://library.auraria.edu.
Click on Databases and Indexes; pick a database. You will get a screen that asks for your name and student ID.
Type in your first and last name and your student ID or social security number and hit enter. You are now into the librarys proprietary databases or databases that the library pays for. If you have AOL or CompuServe you may have to still configure your browser.
Questions about this using this service can be directed to Gayle Bradbeer at x62791 or gayle.bradbeer@cudenver.edu
Virtual Reference Service AskColorado The Auraria Library now participates in a free online information service provided by Colorado libraries. Real people in real time answer your questions, help you find information, or point you in the right direction to get what you need. Whether you need the names of Colorados fourteeners, an article from last weeks newspaper, a hint on how to start your homework, directions to Calgary or help on remembering the star of that Broadway show you saw in 1954, AskColorado can help.
Like database access service, AskColorado is available 24/7
any time that youre on the Internet except for some major
holidays. Look for the symbol
