Kieft seeks VP for academic affairs nominations
September 24, 2003

Interim President Ray Kieft has announced he is seeking nominations from faculty and administrators for candidates to serve as interim vice president for academic affairs.

“The appointee will assume the responsibilities associated with, and have full authority as, the College's chief academic officer. The appointment will be effective November 1, 2003, and continue until a national search is completed for a vice president,” Kieft said.

Nominees don’t necessarily need to be current faculty or administrators, Kieft said. “Former faculty or administrators, retired faculty or administrators, emeritus faculty or administrators, and faculty or administrators formerly with other institutions, who would be available to serve, should be considered as potential nominees,” he said.

Nominations, which should include a brief description of why the nominee is qualified, should be sent by email to Kieft at rkieft@mscd.edu by Oct. 10. Self-nominations are welcome.

“Please know that the input you provide me in the form of your nominations for the interim vice president for academic affairs will be helpful in assessing the qualifications and experiences you believe are important for an interim vice president to possess,” Kieft said.
