Kieft appoints members to four new task forces

Budget Task Force
Larry Betterman (Teacher Education), Wilton Flemon (Chemistry), Larry Lopez (Management), Ann Murphy (Accounting), Charlotte Murphy (Mathematical Sciences), Peggy O'Neill-Jones (Technical Communications), Hal Tamblyn (Music) and Pat Tucker (Computer Science)

The budget task force will review and examine current practices and processes associated with the determination of OCE, equipment and professional development budgets for schools, academic departments, and administrative offices and units to determine if these practices or processes can be streamlined, simplified or efficiencies achieved without compromising required or necessary financial accountability and reporting requirements."

Curriculum Task Force
William Emerson (Mathematical Sciences), Elsie Haley (English), Richard Socash (Computer Information Systems), Cynthia Sutton (Management), Leslie Swetnam (Elementary Education), Luis Torres (Chicano Studies), Lyn Wickelgren (Psychology) and Shawn Worthy (Human Services)

"The curriculum task force will review and examine current practices and processes associated with the development, review and implementation of curriculum, including the resolution of curriculum disputes between and among academic departments, to determine if these practices or processes can be streamlined, simplified or efficiencies achieved without lessening the rigor of peer review or quality control, or compromising academic freedom."

Hiring Task Force
Rick Crosser (Accounting), Jim Drake (History), Lupe Martinez (Elementary Education), Ben Monroe (African American Studies), Elizabeth Ordonez (Modern Languages), Dorothy Snozek (Reading), Ellen Susman (Psychology) and Greg Watts (Art)

"The hiring task force will review and examine current practices and processes of hiring faculty and administrators to determine if these practices or processes can be streamlined, simplified or efficiencies achieved without reducing the College's commitment to hiring the best qualified person as well as to equal opportunity and academic freedom."

Retention, Promotion and Tenure Task Force
Pam Ansburg (Psychology), Debra Gilliard (Management), Madison Holloway (Management), David Ruch (Mathematical Sciences), John Schmidt (Industrial Design), Herbert Stoughton (Surveying and Mapping) and Jodi Wetzel (Women's Studies)

"The retention, promotion and tenure task force will review and examine current practices and processes associated with the retention, promotion and tenure of faculty to determine if these practices or processes can be streamlined, simplified or efficiencies achieved without reducing the College's commitment to non-discrimination or academic freedom, or altering the requirements of the annual performance evaluation described in the Handbook for Professional Personnel."
