The men's and women's basketball teams each host their round-one game as No.3 seeds tonight in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Tournament. The women (21-6) face Nebraska-Kearney at 5 p.m. The men's game against Colorado Christian follows at 7 p.m. Both contests are in the Auraria Events Center. "One of the team's goals this season was to play well enough during the season against conference teams to be able to host the first round," says women's Head Coach Dave Murphy, "so it's 'mission accomplished.'" The Roadrunners have beaten the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers twice already this season, which, according to Murphy, is the first time in RMAC history the Lopers have been swept in conference play. "Tonight's game presents an opportunity that has never been done against the Lopersa Pat Riley term 'three-peat.' More importantly, our team realizes that starting tonight, a victory means moving one step closer to being selected to participate in the NCAA Tournament," Murphy adds. The men are 23-3 overall and 16-3 in conference play. Head Coach Mike Dunlap reached a milestone of 300 career wins in Friday's 79-42 rout of the Colorado School of Mines. He started on his next hundred on Saturday with a 90-76 win against the same Colorado Christian team they face tonight. Tickets are free
to Metro State students with current ID. General admission is $5. For
