Members of SIFE @ Metro State, the college’s chapter of Students In Free Enterprise, will join Tom Martino, who is known as The Troubleshooter, on his nationally syndicated consumer advocate talk show Dec. 1 on KHOW (630 AM). The 9 a.m.-noon show is heard on 212 stations in 46 states, as well as the District of Columbia, Guam and Puerto Rico. Though Martino’s format of discussing caller complaints will continue, the SIFE students will bring a different twist to the show—customer kudos. Listeners across America will be asked to call in with their most unusual stories about excellent customer service. Martino and the students will give a prize each hour to the best customer service story. Also, because the show will air near the onset of the holiday shopping season, students will recommend national retailing companies where customers can expect to find exceptional service. "We felt that too often, a small number of companies providing bad service give all businesses a black eye," said Mick Jackowski, assistant professor of marketing and faculty advisor for SIFE @ Metro State. "The vast majority do a good job of keeping people happy. Our aim is to spotlight companies that far exceed customer expectations." If
successful, the opportunity could turn into a monthly gig for SIFE @
Metro State members.
