Altitude Sports and Entertainment and Metro State have announced a three-year telecast agreement to broadcast Roadrunners athletic events live on Altitude, the new sports and entertainment TV channel set to debut in September 2004. Under the agreement,
Altitude will televise up to ten Metro State sporting events each yearincluding
men's basketball gamesas well as other intercollegiate athletic
events. Additionally, the agreement gives Altitude and Metro options
to televise a weekly athletics highlights program, as well as winter
sports and spring sports highlight specials. "This agreement is exactly the type of programming we referenced when we first made the announcement regarding Altitude's creation," said Altitude COO Matt Hutchings. "There's a great deal of high-quality sports played in and around our region that haven't received the attention they deserve. The Roadrunners are a perfect example of this: they have won a national title two of the past four years in a major sport. We are proud to be able to give them a television home and provide them with the exposure they deserve in the region." "We're very
excited for the opportunity to showcase the college's athletics teams
to the residents of Colorado through this new sports channel,"
said Joan McDermott, Metro's athletics director. McDermott added that
the college is looking forward to expanding the relationship with Altitude
over the next few years. The Roadrunners
will be in good company: Altitude's other programming includes the Colorado
Avalanche, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Mammoth, Colorado Rapids, Colorado
Springs Sky Sox, Colorado Eagles, Big Sky Conference and the Air Force
Academy. |
