| Photojournalism student wins national award |

photojournalism student Evan Semon has won first place in the Richard
Mahon Student Portfolio category from the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar
for his work at the Rocky Mountain News.
According to photojournalism Professor Kenn Bisio, it was the total of Semon's points that gave the Rocky Mountain News photography staff the Newspaper Photo Staff of the Year award. The Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar was founded in 1973 by a group of photojournalists representing newspapers, magazines and wire services to promote the highest standards of photojournalism through an annual educational conference and a photography contest judged by working photographers.
