Spring enrollment up nearly 3 percent
February 16, 2005

For the fourth consecutive year, spring enrollment at Metro is up.

As of the census date, (defined by the Office of Institutional Research as the 12th day of class), total student headcount this semester is 19,885. This is 2.7 percent higher than at the same time last year. The total headcount includes students in state-funded courses and cash-funded courses.

The number of state-funded full-year FTES (full-time equivalent students) is 6,600, up 3.1 percent from last spring's census date. Most of this increase is accounted for in the categories of weekend courses, Internet courses and hybrid classroom/online courses.

The FTES in cash-funded courses increased by 7.6 percent. This increase is primarily due to the addition of the Outreach-Surveying Program and the Accelerated Nursing Program.

To see a more complete breakdown of FTES in the Census Spring 2005 Enrollment Report, contact Ellen Boswell at the Office of Institutional Research at boswelle@mscd.edu
