Poetry, books and music are highlighted in special events over the coming weeks.

Tickets on sale for Angelou
One of America's most beloved poets, Maya Angelou speaks on campus Thursday, April 28, at 7 p.m. in the Auraria Events Center. Tickets are $5 for Metro State and other Auraria students (ID required), $10 for faculty and staff and other students (ID required), and $20 for the general public. Tickets can be purchased at the King Center Box Office, 303-556-2296.

Mark your calendars for the Friends Book Sale.
The Friends of Auraria Library Book Sale starts Monday, April 4, in the Auraria Library lobby and runs through April 6. The prices remain $2 for hardbacks and $1 for paperbacks. Better books will be available and are priced individually. If you are a member of the Friends of the Auraria Library, you may attend a members-only preview sale Saturday, April 2, 4-6 p.m. For more information on the sale or Friends membership, contact Mary K. Piano Celebration winners in concert
Students Valerie Mishek and Amanda Calley, the concerto winners from Metro State's Piano Celebration in January, will perform with the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra Friday, April 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the King Center Concert Hall. Tickets are $15 for the general public, $12 for seniors, and $7 for students with ID and children.
