Melanie A. Haas, an educator with 34 years of experience in Denver Public
Schools20 as a teacher and 14 in administrationhas been
hired to head up Metro's end of its partnership with DPS on the $9.5

Center to survey Metro students
Drinking by college
students is a well-publicized problem in Colorado. Legislative proposals
this session for the tracking of beer keg sales, banning of open containers
of alcohol in most vehicles, and tougher penalties for buying alcohol
for minors all relate to the state's high-profile drinking-related deaths
on college campuses last year.
