The men's and women's basketball teams each host their round-one game as No.3 seeds tonight in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Tournament.

3. 'American Mind' invites college community to Open House


We hold these truths to be—what? In Jefferson's first draft of the Declaration of Independence, the original words are scratched out and replaced by "self-evident." Studying this text—an example of primary source research—led one English class in Colorado to a lively discussion on the importance of word choice.

4. More than $100,000 in new scholarships funded at Metro

Two scholarships, totaling more than $100,000, have been established recently at Metro for students in business, vocational and nursing disciplines.

5. Metro professor to lecture on One Book, One Denver selection

Luis Torres, professor of Chicano/a studies, will lecture later this month on the recently announced 2005 One Book, One Denver selection, "Caramelo" by Sandra Cisneros.

6. IT Responds: The risks of downloading tools and programs from the Internet

One of the most serious problems faced by computer users today is unintentional downloading of "spyware." Spyware is a computer program that installs itself on your computer, without your knowledge and consent, to gather information about you and pass it on to persons unknown.

8. You can help a Metro student-athlete

The Fifth Annual Roadrunner Scholarship Dinner and Auction, to be held April 12, will raise money for the Roadrunner Scholarship Fund and the college's ten intercollegiate sports.

If you have a quality donation you'd like to make to the auction, it would be greatly appreciated by the student-athletes who benefit and by the entire staff in the Athletics program.

Metro State, UCD and the Auraria Library have joined together in a cooperative purchasing initiative to offer faculty and students access to the database, SciFinder Scholar, the world's largest and most up-to-date collection of chemical information.
