2. BOT to hear Jordan testimony at April meeting

Metro State's Board of Trustees will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on April 6, at which time they will hear testimony about the potential presidency of Stephen Jordan.

3. Kempe Center honors part-time faculty member


Jan McIntosh, a champion for children in Denver for more than three decades who teaches part time at Metro, will be honored with the Kempe Award at the Wings of Hope gala April 2 at the Adams Mark in Denver.

4. Faculty: encourage students to apply for COF

Faculty, please remind your students that in-state students who plan to attend Metro for the 2005 Fall Semester should apply for their College Opportunity Fund (COF) stipend before they register for fall classes; registration for the 2005 Summer and Fall semesters begins Monday, April 4.

5. Student Support Services receives funding for next five years

6. College seeks faculty experts for media guide

The Office of College Communications is putting together the 2005/2006 Metropolitan State College of Denver Experts Guide, which the media use when they need experts to give an added perspective to news stories.

7. Metro profs featured in PBS show about Colorado Latinos

Rocky Mountain PBS is now in production of a two-hour, two-part original documentary about the history of Latinos in Colorado. The series, "La Raza de Colorado" (The Race of Colorado), features the work and commentary of many prominent Latinos, including Metro's own Luis Torres, associate professor of Chicana/o studies, and Antonio Esquibel, professor emeritus of Spanish and Chicana/o studies.

8. Endowed scholarship honors student who died in plane crash

The family of Nadia Barghelame, the young Metro State aviation student and member of the tennis team who perished in a Dec. 17 plane crash near Centennial Airport, has established the Nadia Barghelame Female Aviator Endowed Scholarship Fund.

9. Building named after Metro graduate

There aren't many people currently living in Denver who have Denver buildings named after them. There's the Wellington Webb building, and there soon will be "La Villa de Barela," named after Metro alumnus Veronica Barela.
