Trumpeting the accomplishments of faculty and staff
As
you would expect, teaching overloads, extra responsibilities and exemplary
student and performance evaluations are common factors among the 161
recipients of the Presidential Performance Stipends announced by Interim
President Raymond N. Kieft.
Look closer, though, and you will see just how creative and dedicated
to students and coworkers the winners are.

Another enrollment record looms
Metro is gearing up for what appears to be record enrollment this fall.
As of August 24 the headcount (state-funded and cash-funded) was 20,992,
which is 3.1% higher than last year's second day of classes. State-funded
full-year FTES was 7,114, a 2.1% increase.
According to Admissions
Director Bill Hathaway Clark, it appears the growth is due primarily
to a larger number of continuing students returning for the fall, since
the number of new freshmen and transfers will be about the same as last
year.
Registrar Tom Gray
adds that many classes are full, including the wait lists. "But
there are seats available. Students should use the 'Class Search' feature
in BANNER Web to find classes with seats."
Today @Metro will
publish the official enrollment numbers after the September 8 census
date.
