3. College adopts wireless policy


The President's Cabinet has established a policy regarding the use of wireless networking devices to ensure that the college's network is not compromised.

4. Noel Professor Nontombi Naomi Tutu arrives Sunday

International human relations scholar Nontombi Naomi Tutu comes to Denver and Metro State Sunday and Monday, Oct.17-18, as the 2004 Rachel B. Noel Distinguished Visiting Professor. Her visit includes two lectures to which the public is invited.

5. Students win $20,000 grant to host regional tournament

The Metro State chapter of Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) is one of only nine student chapters in the nation to be awarded a $20,000 grant to host a regional financial case competition in January.

6. Reminder: Open enrollment for classified employees

Open enrollment for benefits for classified employees is Oct. 18 through Nov. 6. This enrollment period is for a short plan year, Jan, 1-June 30, 2005, as the state will switch to the fiscal year for benefits enrollment starting July 1, 2005.

Classified employees should receive in the mail a statement of their current benefits that includes instruction for completing the on-line enrollment process.

Metro's Human Resources department will hold two benefits fairs: Friday, Oct. 29 and Tuesday, Nov. 2, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., in TIV 320.
