Open House sees record attendance
November 10, 2004

Transfer counselor Katherine Goldberg welcomes a prospective student to the Open House.

Nearly 1,200 visitors attended the Metro State Open House Nov. 6—the highest number in the event's five-year history

"Fall is typically the time when traditional students explore college choices," said Director of Admissions Bill Hathaway-Clark. "We were also pleased to see many nontraditional students. It was a huge success." Hathaway-Clark added that he and his staff want to thank the more than 150 faculty, staff and alumni who participated.

Prospective students and their guests came to the Auraria Events Center to find out about academic programs, student services and the many resources available at Metro State. The event offered special opportunities, including tours of the Aviation and Aerospace Science Department's flight lab and a presentation on the Hospitality, Meeting and Travel Administration Department's mini-conference center. In addition, a record 375 people toured the campus and more than 100 applications for admission were submitted.

Future Metro State Open Houses will take place on Saturday, April 9 and on Saturday, June 25.
