The Metro Jazz Voices, one of only four collegiate vocal groups invited, just returned from the Fifth Annual North Texas Jazz Festival held April 1-3 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Addison, Texas. The prestigious jazz fest showcases young jazz talent from colleges, high schools and middle schools from around the country.

Directed by Music Department Chair Walter Barr, the group of seven student vocalists is backed by a student instrumental trio. They received an award for musicianship at the event.

You can hear the Jazz Voices perform in a lineup that includes the vocal styling of Sunny Wilkinson on Thursday, April 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the King Center. The event is part of the Fourth Annual Jazz Celebration at Metro State and is free for the Metro community.
