Science Building going to after-hours access system
June 22, 2005

As of July 13, faculty, students and staff who work in the Science Building must have pre-approved and encoded campus IDs in order to enter the building and access certain rooms after regular business hours. For greater security, AHEC is installing after-hours card readers on the main west entry exterior door, the third floor chemistry labs and classrooms 313, 327 and 329.

Those needing to access the building after regular business hours must have their campus IDs encoded for use in the card readers. To obtain the encoding you must the written approval of your department chair or director and Metro State's institutional representative, Beth Christensen, 303-556-4646.

Only the approval of your department chair or director is needed for after-hours admittance into the third floor chemistry labs and/or the three classrooms listed above. Approval of your institutional representative is not required.

Auraria Campus Police will no longer admit unauthorized faculty, staff and students after July 12.

Campus buildings already using the card reader access system are the King Center, St. Cajetan's, Administration, North, Plaza, Events Center/PE, South, Arts and Technology.

Please refer to the Auraria Campus 2005-06 calendar for building hour information at: http://www.ahec.edu/fpu/pages/calendars.htm.

For more information, please see your department chair or call Derek Maynes in Facilities Management at 303-556-4296.
