Faculty and staff kudos
October 27, 2004
Here's a sampling of some of the ways that Metro's faculty and staff are being recognized by their peers and building the college's reputation in the community.

A paper by four management professors received the Best Paper Award at the 46th Annual Mountain Plains Management Association Meeting in Grand Junction Oct. 14-16. "Preferences for Teaching Methods: The Influence of Learning Style and College Major," was written by Cynthia Sutton, Debora Gilliard, Jerry Geisler and Rajendra Khandekar.

Several Health Center at Auraria staff members made presentations at the September annual meeting of the Rocky Mountain College Health Association. Clinical Supervisor Martha Eaton spoke on "Administration - Implementation of a Mandatory TB Screening Program." Director Steve Monaco and Assistant Director Jeff Uzacki participated in a presentation on "Administration - Electronic Medical Records."

Two full-time temporary management professors lent their expertise for the recent Seminar on Entrepreneurship that the Management Department sponsored with the Minority and Women's Chamber Coalition. Ray Moroye, who teaches Entrepreneurship and Organizational Management, and Pat Barry, a practicing attorney who teaches Business Law, were the speakers for the Oct. 8 seminar at the Bernard Valdez Heritage Center.
