For the second year in a row, The Met Report has received the national Mark of Excellence award from the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) as the Best All-Around Online Student Broadcast Station in the country. In addition, the station has been named a national finalist in the Television Non-Daily Newscast category. (SPJ names one Mark of Excellence winner and two national finalists in each category.)

The Met Report won the regional competition in April, qualifying them to compete at the national level. The staff will receive the award at the SPJ national convention in Las Vegas in October.
