Classified Staff Council elects officers
May 25, 2005

The Classified Staff Council has elected officers for the 2005-06 academic year.

Vonda Knox, administrative assistant to the Faculty Senate, has been re-elected to serve as president for a third term.

Academic advisor Kathryn Montoya has been elected vice president, replacing outgoing vice president Michael Zastrow, program assistant in College Communications.

Kerry Martinez, administrative assistant for loan processing in the Financial Aid Office, has been elected secretary. Martinez will replace outgoing secretary Mary Emmet, administrative assistant in the Political Science Department.

Peggy Mondragon of the Marketing Department will be next year's treasurer. She will succeed outgoing treasurer Vince Werner, administrative assistant in the School of Letters, Arts and Sciences.

All officers were elected by acclamation.

The stated purpose of the Classified Staff Council is to share ideas, exchange information, generate recommendations and discuss issues that affect classified personnel; to foster unity, cooperation and loyalty among all classified Metro State employees; to recommend methods and means of improving career opportunities for Metro classified employees; and to study and make recommendations to the college administration and faculty regarding procedures, policies, and other concerns of classified employees relating to Metro State operations.
