The search for president is continuing as planned, according to John Buechner, chair of the Search Advisory Committee. "At this moment, I'm doing background checks on a variety of prospect names," Buechner said. Noting that the search advisory committee has submitted between seven and eight names through the course of this process, Buechner said it is up to the Board of Trustees to determine who will be named as finalists. "It's a two-way arrangement," he explained. "The board and the potential candidate must agree to proceed further, before he or she is named as a finalist." In his report to the trustees at the Feb. 2 board meeting, Buechner had reported that the committee was still receiving applicationsmore than 200 so faras well as calls from applicants who wanted to know if the college was still interested. "We are moving along rapidly and hope the board will bring finalists to campus soon," he said. "We need to set up a process for constituent groups to meet with any finalists." |
