The Experiencing Your Zenith (XYZ) program, a collaborative project of Metro's Center for Visual Art, Denver's Youth Opportunity Program and the Denver Housing Authority (DHA), has received a national Award of Merit in Housing and Community Development from the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment. The award will be given in July at the national housing conference in San Francisco. The XYZ program has also been entered in the national Awards of Excellence competition, winners of which will be announced at the conference in July.

The XYZ program provides arts training to teenagers to help them in higher education or potentially lead to employment opportunities.
