The planning committee for Metro State’s yearlong celebration of its 40th Anniversary has launched www.mscd.edu/news/fortyyears/, the anniversary Web site.

The site is a work in progress, but already contains these links and more:

• Events calendar
• “The Soul of a New College,” the three-part article from Metropolitan Magazine (1987) that describes Metro State’s creation
• Roadrunner Record, a history of the college’s athletics
• Our Stories, where you can read others' memories and add your own
• The Photo Gallery, view old photos and add your own
• Information about the 40th Anniversary Endowed Scholarship

Look in the future for a timeline of Metro State’s 40 years, a reprint of The Forty Faces of Metro State from the commemorative issue of Metro Magazine, and much more.

And don’t forget the 40th Anniversary kick-off event, A Night of Legends and Champions: Brian Wilson in Concert. The August 26 concert, which starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Universal Lending Pavilion, benefits the Metro State Athletics Scholarship Program.
