Gov. Bill Owens announced last week the appointment of Edward Robinson to the Colorado Commission on Higher Education (CCHE). Robinson currently serves on the Metro State Foundation Advisory Board. Robinson is the co-chief executive officer of Robinson Dairy. He also serves on a variety of other boards, including National Jewish Medical and Research Center, the Colorado Milk Marketing Board, the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Denver and the Denver Zoological Foundation. Robinson holds a bachelor’s degree in agriculture with a major in animal husbandry dairy manufacturing from Colorado State University. He served in the military from 1954 to 1962, receiving an honorable discharge as a 1st lieutenant. Owens also appointed Richard Ramirez of Fort Collins to serve on CCHE. “Higher education is the key to success for many of our children and that’s why we must constantly strive to improve our educational system,” said Owens. “These new members have an excellent record of service to the state and I’m confident they will perform their new duties with diligence and trust.” The CCHE acts as a central
policy and coordinating board for Colorado public higher education.
There are 11 members on the commission, each of whom serves a four-year
term. Senate confirmation is required.
