Dr. Stephen R. Covey, author of the New York Times bestseller “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” will present a free lecture on “Strengthening Families and Communities,” 7-8:30 p.m., Aug. 22, in the Tivoli Turnhalle.

Covey will focus on a step-by-step process for improving and strengthening your family relationships. Using the seven habits as a foundation, he will discuss the differences between effective and ineffective families. He will teach families about what he believes are the timeless principles that enable family members to better communicate and resolve their challenges. He will also share his own experiences and those of families who are striving to live by these guiding principles.
