Next up on the list of signature events celebrating Metro State's 40th anniversary is the Center for Visual Art's exhibition "The Metro Effect," which features the work of Metro State alumni. Running through Oct. 29, the exhibition also celebrates the CVA's 15th anniversary. The opening reception is tomorrow, Sept. 15, from 6-7 p.m., for CVA members and from 7-9 p.m. for the public. Greg Watts, chair of the Art Department and CVA executive director; Yuko Yagisawa, assistant professor of jewelry and metals; and Kathy Andrews, former director and curator of the CVA, selected the 26 artists for the exhibition. They are are Shaun Acton, Phil Bender, Mary Ellen Buxton and Kevin Kutch, Kay Margaret Conger, Carlos Frésquez, Mark Friday, Jennifer Ghormley, Christine Gabrielle Graziano, Theodore Haberman, Charlene Harlow, Adrienne Johnson, Kevin Kutch, Josiah Lopez, Jeremy McGirl, Chuck Middlekauff, Johanna Mueller, Lauri Lynnxe Murphy, Marie Morrison Quinn, Elaine Ricklin, Natascha Seideneck, Dave Seiler, Bill Starke, Jeanne Thomsen, Andrew Warner, Michon Winter and Marsha Wooley.
