Morfeld named interim admissions director
July 20, 2005

Jim Morfeld, associate director of internal operations in the Office of Admissions, will take over as interim director of admissions on Aug. 1.

“Jim has more than a decade of experience in all facets of admissions,” said Karen Raforth, interim vice president for Student Services. “Everyone is impressed with his skills in customer service and technology. He’s great at problem identification and analysis and is very results-oriented.”

“I’m excited to have the opportunity to be a part of Metro State’s new leadership, working with a great Admissions team to build on previous initiatives and help move the college into the future,” Morfeld said.

Raforth said that in addition to the director’s responsibilities, Morfeld will supervise New Student Orientation and the Assessment and Testing Office. She added that he will serve in the interim position while a search is conducted, a process Raforth hopes to launch next week.

Morfeld came to Metro in 1998 from CU-Boulder’s admissions office. He is well-known in the recruitment community and has served on committees and task forces for the CCHE, NCAA and NAFSA.
