Jordan sets November for provost selection
July 20, 2005

President Stephen Jordan, in an admittedly ambitious move, has set November as the goal for the selection of a provost and vice president for Academic Affairs.

Jordan announced the search committee membership in a July 18 campus-wide e-mail. Chair and Professor of Biology Joan Foster will head the 12-member committee. The other members are:

  • David Conde, associate vice president for Academic Affairs
  • Hal Nees, Faculty Senate president
  • Madison Holloway, professor of management
  • Earl E. Hasz, professor of mathematical sciences
  • Lynn Kaersvang, associate professor of social work
  • Dorothy Snozek, professor of reading
  • Nancy Shanks, chair of health care professions
  • Ed Guajardo Lucero, president-elect of the Alumni Association
  • Vonda Knox, Classified Staff Council president
  • Lee Shores, career specialist
  • Christopher Anders Minter, student representing the Student Government Assembly

Jordan has hired James B. Appleberry of Academic Search Consultation Service to assist in the nationwide search. Appleberry is president-emeritus of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) and of Northern Michigan University where he served for eight years.
