AHEC plans phone and fire pump tests
July 27, 2005

Maintenance tests for Auraria’s Audix phone system and campus fire pumps are scheduled for later this week and next.

On Friday, July 29, AHEC Telecommunications will take Audix down for rebooting from 5 to approximately 6 p.m. If you have any questions, contact Mary White, AHEC telecommunications analyst, 303-556-2206, whitem@ahec.edu.

Then next week, the Denver Fire Department will perform the annual fire pump flow test required for each pump on the Auraria Campus. This testing will not affect the supply of water nor the water pressure in any campus buildings. However, large volumes of water will flow across the sidewalks, streets and parking lots. For minimal disturbance to pedestrians, all the tests will be held between 6 and 7:30 a.m.
Wednesday, Aug. 3:
Administration Building – The driveway between the dock and Parking Lot G will be blocked to vehicle traffic. Lot G will remain open, but water from the fire hoses will flow into the lot.
Thursday, Aug. 4:
King Center – The vehicle and pedestrian walkway on Larimer Street between the King Center and the Tivoli parking lot will be closed to vehicle traffic. Water from fire hoses will flow into the lot.
Friday, Aug. 5:
Tivoli – The ADA pedestrian ramp on the Walnut Street side of the building will be closed. Vehicle traffic will be routed around the fire hoses at 9th and Walnut Streets.

Contact Jim Peasley, 303-556-2240, peasleyj@ahec.edu, with questions.
