Metro State Board of Trustees Chair Adele Phelan has announced that the
board and President Stephen Jordan have reached an agreement for a
three-year contract with two one-year extensions.

been tracking several legislative measures that will affect higher
education in the state. When passed, all of the bills will head to Gov.

Metro State’s Board of Trustees will meet Wednesday, May 7, 8:30 a.m.-noon, in TIV 320. As @Metro went to press, it was uncertain as to whether there would be an executive session prior to the the public meeting.

P4P Update: Work on evaluation guidelines to continue through summer

The Faculty Evaluation Steering Committee (P4P) is wrapping up for the
academic year. We presented the draft pay for performance evaluation
guidelines to the Faculty Senate on April 9, and the Board of Trustees
will receive an update of our progress on May 7.

Last week’s summit, “Great Teachers for Our City Schools: A National
Summit on Recruiting, Preparing and Retaining Quality Urban Teachers,”
hosted by Metro State and Denver Public Schools (DPS) through the Urban
Teacher Partnership (UTP) program, provided nearly 250 participants a
chance to share what works in getting and keeping good teachers for
successful practice in urban schools.

The Department of Accounting has been notified by the Information
Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) that accounting major Cindalena Milhoan will receive one of two $1,000 scholarships for the 2008 fall semester.
