April 11 is College Friday in Colorado. Sponsored by College in Colorado, the state-initiated campaign to improve college access in the state, the third annual College Friday is designed to raise awareness about the importance of higher education for Coloradofs youth.
Members of the Metro State community are encouraged to participate by wearing college logo gear on Friday, April 11. College in Colorado is asking businesses, organizations and schools to encourage their employees/faculty/youth to wear college logo gear on that day as well.
Public service announcements promoting the day will feature Domonique Foxworth of the Denver Broncos, Colorado Governor Bill Ritter and Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper.
Other ways that members of the Metro State community can participate are as follows:
Invite a neighboring school or classroom to tour campus and learn what college life is like (College in Colorado can help connect you with schools and students).
Recruit current college students to talk to classrooms in your community about life in college and tips on preparing for college (College in Colorado can help you connect with classrooms).
Donate college logo items to College in Colorado to use as prizes at schools across the state.
