Foundation announces new board members, finance director

The Metro State Foundation Board has added six new members to its roster. The new members attended their first foundation meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 21.
“We are delighted with the depth and breadth of expertise that our new members will bring to the board,” said Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Foundation Executive Director Carrie Besnette Hauser, who is also an ex officio member of the board. “The foundation is looking forward to an excellent year under the guidance of the entire board.”
The foundation also announced the appointment of Stephen DeVisser as its new finance director, effective Sep. 15.
Below are brief profiles of the new board members.

| Jesse Morreale |
Jesse Morreale is the founder and president of M Inc., which currently owns and operates Sketch Wine Bar, El Diablo Cocina y Tequileria, La Rumba Nightclub, Rockbar, Mezcal, and the All Inn Hotel and the First Avenue Hotel. For 15 years Morreale was owner and operator of Nobody In Particular Presents, which promoted over 1,800 concert events nationwide annually under his leadership, and locally developed the Red Rocks and Botanic Gardens Summer Concert Series as well as the Ogden, Bluebird, and Gothic Theatres. Morreale has lived in Denver for 22 years and is a product of the Auraria Campus, with a bachelor of science with an emphasis in music management from the University of Colorado-Denver. Morreale employs over 500 people full time and has been named one of 5280 Magazine’s Most Influential People in Denver.

| Rob Morrill |
Rob Morrill, alumni representative to the foundation board, is a partner with the Denver law firm Bartlit Beck Herman Palenchar & Scott. He specializes in mergers and acquisitions and general corporate matters.Morrill holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Metro State summa cum laude and a law degree from the University of Michigan cum laude. He was an associate with a private law firm in Chicago for five years. Since returning to Denver, Morrill has enjoyed re-engaging with Metro State; he established the Metro State Pre-Law Scholarship Endowment and has served on the Alumni Association Board of Directors since 2008. He was recognizedby Colorado Super Lawyers magazine as one of Colorado's 2010 "Rising Stars."

| Robin Sadler |
Robin Sadler has been vice president of human resources for Kaiser Permanente Colorado since 2007. In this capacity, she creates and supports initiatives and programs throughout the region. Previously, she served as the health plan’s compensation and benefits manager and compensation consultant. Sadler earned a bachelor’s of arts in psychology at the University of Missouri–Columbia and a certificate as a senior professional in human resources from the Human Resource Certification Institute. She served on the board of directors for the Adams Community Mental Health Center, as well as being past president of the Colorado Healthcare Association for Human Resource Management (CHAHRM).

| Ron Tilton |
Ron Tilton has been president of FirstBank of Denver since 1998. He started his career with the bank in 1985, and has served on its Credit Policy Committee and as the chair of the Credit Committee. He serves on the boards of Del Norte Housing Development Corporation, Denver Civic Ventures and the Rocky Mountain Chapter of Junior Achievement. His past community involvement includes service on the boards of Parent Pathways, Urban League and Denver Area Boy Scouts, chair of the Downtown Denver Partnership’s City Center Housing Council, and founding board member of Colorado Lending source (a non-profit loan company). He holds a bachelor’s of science degree from Kansas State University in economics and finance.

| Mak Van Tine |
Mark Van Tine is president/CEO of Jeppesen and vice president of commercial aviation services for Boeing. Van Tine began his career in 1981 with Lockheed DataPlan and served as its managing director from 1991 until 1995 before relocating to Denver to oversee Jeppesen’s worldwide flight information development, printing and distribution operations, and IT organizations. He has worked in a variety of different capacities within Jeppesen, was the company’s chief information officer from 1998 to 2002, and became president in 2003. He received a bachelor’s of science degree in aviation from San Jose State University and attended the Harvard School of Business Program for Management Development. He holds a private pilot certificate and is an active general aviation pilot.

| Charlie Walling |
Charlie Walling is the general manager for Robinson Dairy. A 27-year veteran of the dairy industry, Walling began his career as a sales representative for Schepps Diary, rising through the ranks to sales manager and then general manager. Following the Dean Food’s acquisition of Schepps and Robinson in 1999, Walling became Robinson’s general manager. His board service includes the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation, Denver Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Denver Athletic Club, Community College of Denver Foundation and St. Joseph Hospital Foundation. He serves on the Colorado Milk Marketing Board and was appointed to Governor Bill Ritter’s Department of Agriculture transition team.
