Following Metro State President Stephen Jordan’s March 1 appearance on the panel, “Funding Public Higher Education Post-Stimulus,” at the New America Foundation in Washington, D.C., moderator and foundation senior policy analyst, Jennifer Cohen, said that in addition to attendees, more than 500 people watched online.
Also several agencies wanted the presentations and video coverage, including the U.S. Department of Education.
Jordan was joined on the panel by Nick Johnson, vice president for State Fiscal Policy at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, and Paul Lingenfelter, president of State Higher Education Executive Officers. Jordan spoke about how Metro State used its stimulus funds to better position the College to handle reduced public funding.
