Auraria Campus has announced that the two rightmost lanes of the Auraria Parkway leading into downtown Denver will be closed in two phases beginning this Friday.
The closures will facilitate the connection of utilities vital to the completion and operation of the Metro State Hotel and Hospitality Learning Center (HLC), which held its groundbreaking on March 31, 2011, and is expected to open August 2012.
Phase I will close the lanes on Friday, July, 22 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The lanes will re-open for Friday evening's rush hour. Phase II will close the same two lanes from 7 a.m. on Saturday, July 23 through Wednesday, July 27.
As the HLC project progresses through Phase II, the scheduling of the last remaining closure will be determined. This final closure on approximately July 30-31 will allow work that will tie into the water line and concrete restoration. Any finishing touches will take place during the week of Aug. 8.
