The Colorado Commission on Higher Education voted Thursday, Dec. 3,
to approve Metro State’s proposed master’s degree programs in
professional accountancy and social work.
Since the teacher education master’s degree program entails teacher
licensure, it must first be reviewed by the Colorado Department of
Education (CDE) and then go to the Colorado State Board of Education
for approval before it can go before the CCHE. The proposal is
currently with the CDE.
Authorization from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) is required
before the programs can be marketed and students recruited. The HLC
site visit is Feb. 1-2, 2010.
More information about the initiative can be found at master’s programs.
