Metro State students will have the opportunity to learn how to connect with one of the fastest-growing consumer populations in the United States at the 3rd Annual Innovations in Hispanic Marketing Conference on Sept. 15. To be held at St. Cajetan’s Center on the Auraria Campus from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the regional “one-of-its-kind” conference has a track record of providing the latest trends and insights on the vibrant U.S. Hispanic market.
The conference registration fee of $149 includes all conference materials and lunch. Proceeds from the conference will go to scholarships and endowed scholarships for Latino marketing students at Metro State.
The Marketing Department is sponsoring 50 Metro State students who are interested in reaching this community, according to Marketing Chair and Professor Clay Daughtrey. “Having this conference available to students is a testament to the College’s commitment to its Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) initiative. We encourage interested students to take advantage of this opportunity to learn how to connect with this large and very important segment of the U.S. population.”
Co-chairs for the College’s HSI Task Force, Associate Vice President for Enrollment Services Judi Diaz Bonacquisti and Deputy Provost Luis Torres, will deliver the conference welcome. Following that, some of the industry’s most knowledgeable professionals will address timely topics and provide attendees with insights to help make their Hispanic marketing programs innovative and profitable. Other Metro State representatives on the agenda include Assistant Professor of Marketing Ruth Chavez, who will moderate a panel, and School of Business Dean John Cochran, who will deliver closing remarks.
The keynote speaker is David R. Morse, president and CEO, New American Dimensions, LLC, which has recently completed a landmark study of the factors that drive shopping behavior among Latinas. This research is the first of its kind to evaluate the cultural and behavioral dynamics that influence shopping in the fastest-growing consumer market segment in the U.S. and its findings will be debuted at the conference.
