The Strategic Planning Committee is in the sixth phase of its planning process, with an all-day Goals Conference scheduled for Oct. 14 at the Curtis Hotel.
The conference, which will include the President’s Cabinet as well as the committee members, will determine how to implement and set measurable outcomes for the points and themes in the vision statement.
That statement, which was derived from the Vision Conference in August, is in the process of revision and is set to be finalized at the committee’s Oct. 10 meeting. It will be posted on the Strategic Plan website when completed.
“The Goals Conference will examine how to specifically implement the major ideas agreed upon at the Vision Conference and which constitute the Vision Statement,” says Faculty Senate President Kamran Sahami, who co-chairs the Strategic Planning Committee with Associate Vice President of Communications and Advancement Cathy Lucas.
Pat Sanaghan, president of The Sanaghan Group, will once again facilitate the conference with Naomi Nishi, director of program design and customization at Academic Impressions.
“The committee members stepped up to the plate and worked very hard to get to this point,” says Lucas. “We are all excited as we near completion of this important plan that will define Metro State’s future for the next five years.”
