Metro's Teacher Quality
Enhancement (TQE) Grant from the U.S. Department of Education enables History Department faculty such as Todd Laugen and Barbara Gabriel to collaborate more extensively with students and faculty in the Teacher Education Department. These efforts have focused on how best to prepare MSCD teacher candidates for the challenges of urban high school social studies. Professional development opportunities and funding support are available for Metro social studies teacher candidates. In addition, TQE Faculty in the Department regularly consult with Denver Public School teachers and administrators. This work has focused on curricular reform and mentoring projects within the Denver Public system.
