Cut & Paste into Form (online students only)

When you submit your activities, in most if not all cases you will be entering your information into an online web form. While you can submit all the material directly into the form, you may find it better to put together your submission in a text processor such as Note Pad first. I suggest that you do NOT use a full-blown word processor such as Word or WordPerfect because they use codes and formats that are not supported by the submission forms. You just want to be using simple text, nothing fancy here. Click here fopr another explanation: Cut & Paste.

Please note that the the submission form you use may appear different from the example we use here, but the process is the same. This is just a generic example.

You might type your entire submission into Note Pad or other text processor, then save it to your hard drive or floppy. It might look like this (click image for larger version):

text of submission

You could then sign on and access the submission form:

Then go back to your submission text and highlight the first part, the header. Copy it to the clipboard:

highlight and cut copy

Back at the submission form, paste the material into the form box: paste copy into form
You should end up with this in the form box:

final result

Then repeat this process with the other sections of your submission. Note that some forms may have special boxes for data, so that in those cases you may not have to submit your data and observations into a large text box. Be sure that you do not press the "Submit" button until you have copied everything and the submission form is complete.
